F*CK ULEZ is a documentary that aims to step into the resistance against Sadiq Khan's decision to expand the ultra low emission zone across the entirety of the London boroughs. This decision impacted many people, from varied walks of life. Whether that was having to purchase a new car, losing their jobs, not being able to take their kids to school. The documentary gives voice to all those who share their anger and their frustration. We explore the ongoing resistance since ULEZ was implemented and the people standing behind it. This is a piece that shows people won’t go quietly into complacency in the face of injustice.
For this project I was director of photography, sound recordist, a producer and editor.
I had to use post production techniques to enhance the narrative of the short. For this I came up with an idea based in the Harry Potter universe. I did all the pre-production and post production work and on-set I directed and shot the film, with friends filling roles such as sound recordist, boom operator, script supervisor and even the talent.
For this assignment we were in groups and had to come up with a narrative in which each of us could be director of photography for a scene and when the scenes get put together it makes a cohesive narrative. Below is my scene and the button above takes you to the full short film.
